• Since our region is unsurpassed with regard to the number of people working in high tech jobs, we consider it crucial to stay abreast of the newest developments in research and technology.

EURIS (European Collaborative and Open Regional Innovation Strategies)

funded under INTERREG IVC

EURIS' goal was to contribute to the opening up of EU regions' innovation ecosystems. This shall be reached through the embracement of Open Innovation (OI), leading to accelerated cooperation rates among innovation stakeholders (companies and research institutions), both in the midst of each region and among EU regions.

In detail, the project is aimed at:

  • analysing established good practices in the field of Open Innovation at regional level and present them in an OI policy best practices guide.
  • developing more effective regional innovation strategies through mutual learning, exchange and transfer of good practices, in the field of cooperation policies among innovation stakeholders, conducive to Open Innovation environments.
  • the dissemination and transfer of such good practices to other EU regions.
  • delivering policy recommendations for regional innovation stakeholders to embrace Open Innovation.

Most important aspect of the interregional cooperation is the definition and joint implementation of sub-projects. Carried out by the project partners and regional public stakeholders, these sub-projects will exchange several good practices and/or jointly develop new interregional approaches in the field of Open Innovation.
