Democritos Developing the Mobility Credits Integrated Platform Enabling Travellers TO Improve Urban Transport Sustainability

funded under 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development

The project's objective is to identify new options in urban mobility and find ways of providing new mobility models. As part of the project, a feasibility study is being developed on introducing emission licences for the transport sector. The aim is to examine whether and under which general conditions a "Mobility Credits Model" can be introduced and makes sense. Travellers as well as mobility and technology companies are to be shown and made to understand the effects of their mobility behaviour against the backdrop of the impacts they have on climate and the environment as well as in the light of rising greenhouse gas emission prices.

The project involves a cooperation of partners from Italy, Germany, Romania and Portugal.
