BioProm
co-funded under the programme "Intelligent Energy for Europe"
Many of the barriers to the implementation of bioenergy facilities are rather non-technical than technical. The BioProm project aims to overcome these constraints with a special focus on densely populated urban areas. The approach aims to identify these barriers in five appropriate regions throughout Europe and to eliminate them by creating regional networks. These networks shall contain all key actors that are necessary for the resolution of the barriers and shall be continuing networks of competence beyond the project. A major contribution to the elimination of barriers will be an inter-regional exchange of experiences. Best Practice examples that are derived from the cross-regional analysis help to overcome regional and EU-wide barriers. In addition to the elimination of barriers and the creation of networks in these regions important results will be extensive dissemination activities to promote the guidelines and recommendations gained from BioProm.
