European metropolitan regions and their role in implementing the new standards for European spatial and urban development

European metropolitan regions play a decisive role in implementing the new standards for spatial and urban development as specified in the New Leipzig Charter and the Territorial Agenda 2030. The online event offers the opportunity to reflect on these revised strategies and examine the next steps for their implementation shortly before both documents will be adopted by the national governments on 30 November and 1 December during the German EU Council Presidency.

The online event is organized within CAMELOT project (Cities And Metropolis in Europe Labouring Onward Together) funded by the Europe for Citizens Programme of the European Union. It entails the metropolitan regions and cities of Barcelona, Bari, Craiova, Gdansk-Gdynia-Sopot, Milan, Porto, Stuttgart and Zagreb as well as ALDA - European Association for Local Democracy.
