International Urban Cooperation

The program is part of a long-term EU strategy to promote sustainable urban and regional development between the EU and China. As part of the program, European and Chinese cities and city regions are connected with one another on specific topics. Through the program, four startups from Stuttgart Region were able to take part in the Nanjing Techweek and thus gain first experiences on the Chinese market. In addition, the Stuttgart Region cooperated on the creation of an industrial design platform in Nanjing.Besides, the worldwide network of the IUC program resulted in further collaborations with US metropolitan regions. The VRS presented its climate strategy at a conference in Brussels and at the "National Conference of Regions" in Washington D.C.
