Magistrale für Europa – High-speed train line Paris – Strasbourg - Stuttgart - Munich - Salzburg - Vienna - Budapest

co-funded under INTERREG II C

The purpose of the project was to study and assess the possible impact of a high-speed railway line from Paris to Budapest via Stuttgart. This included analysing the effects on regional development, passenger numbers and connecting trains in local and long-distance transport. The project played a part in the connection being included in the trans-European networks TEN-T. The partners involved were all members of the Magistrale für Europa Initiative, i.e. the larger towns, regions and chambers of industry and commerce affected by the line as well as the Association TGV Est Européen.
