The purpose of the project is to study the competence and practical experience in regional planning and development that the 32 metropolitan regions involved have by using a benchmarking catalogue. The aims are for each region to analyse its own situation, to learn of the best practices of other regions, to draw conclusions about the further development of its own activities, to improve the benchmark for good practice and formulate recommendations to the EU and national legislators for the future of regional planning.
